Founder/Chair
Ryan Skelly is currently a fourth-year medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine who plans on pursuing a career in anesthesiology. Beyond his academic pursuits, Ryan is profoundly dedicated to fitness and empowering others to reach their fitness milestones. His journey into the world of fitness commenced in the summer preceding his ninth grade, initially sparked by preparations for his high school's summer football camp. Throughout high school, Ryan showcased his athleticism by competing in football, track and field, and powerlifting. This passion for physical activity has not only persisted beyond his high school years but has also diversified. Ryan now embraces a variety of workout methodologies, including bodybuilding, powerlifting, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), yoga, hiking, and kickboxing, continuing to enrich his fitness voyage with each passing day.

Mayrangela “Mali” Rodriguez, a second-year med student at the University of Florida College of Medicine, aims to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is passionate about the role of preventative behaviors such as diet/exercise and individual factors that can impact mental health and chronic disease outcomes. Mali’s athletic career began in 2009 with competitive swimming year round, competing both for club and high school teams. Mali excelled in the sport by becoming an All-American Status Athlete as well as being selected for the Puerto Rican National Team where she earned three international medals and set national records. For the past three years, her athletic interests have shifted to bodybuilding where she has been strength training and macro-tracking to reach her goals. She also enjoys mediation, yoga, and hiking. She also competed in an NPC bodybuilding show during summer 2024.

Chris Lamprecht is currently a first-year medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine with ambitions in Orthopedic Surgery. Chris co-leads the GatorFitness initiative, striving to blend exercise with medical education. Beyond studies, he's an avid sportsman—engaging in powerlifting, snowboarding, flowriding, and playing football and soccer, relishing the adrenaline and camaraderie these activities bring. In moments of relaxation, Chris explores his culinary skills, inspired by his South African heritage. He enjoys preparing traditional dishes like potjie, braai, and bobotie, viewing cooking as a creative outlet and a connection to his roots. Open to discussions on anything from medicine to sports and cooking, Chris is passionate about sharing and learning within the community.
Data Management and Screening / Gator Fitness Liaison
Andrew Kaiser is a 2nd-year medical student at the UF College of Medicine who is exploring anesthesiology, orthopedic surgery, and other specialties in medicine while keeping an open mind. Throughout his academic career, Andrew has continuously realized the importance of striking a balance between academic endeavors, mental well-being, faith/family, and physical health. Furthermore, Andrew finds himself invested in Gator Fitness, an initiative that serves as a multifaceted approach to several aspects of this vital balance that he continuously strives to maintain. Throughout his childhood and adolescence, Andrew was always involved in sports from basketball and swimming to weightlifting and hockey. Despite several physical setbacks/injuries, Andrew always finds himself coming back to different forms of exercise due to the relationship he has developed over the years with staying in shape. Andrew is someone who, through his own experiences, sees the value and need for a program like GatorFitness as part of the medical school experience. Finding forms of exercise you enjoy doing and excelling within is an invaluable aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, not just in medical school, but as you continue down residency, work as an attending, and have a family. Moreover, Andrew is passionate and eager to be a part of GatorFitness - an organization he believes will enable students by planting the seed of an active lifestyle early in this journey for years of growth and sustainability to come!
Quality Control Officer
Snigdha (Sniggy) Reddy Sama is an incoming second-year medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine who is passionate about the importance of balancing academic pursuits with physical activity. As a child, Snigdha played tennis and roller skated competitively. However, she found that the intense academic pressure at the highly competitive high school she attended bogged her down, leading to a significant reduction in her physical activity and negatively affecting her mental health. It wasn't until she started weight training in college, with some help from friends, that she rediscovered the joy of physical activity, experiencing renewed energy and a more positive outlook on life. Today, Snigdha enjoys a variety of workouts, including biking, weight training, playing tennis and pickleball, and running, continuing to enrich her fitness journey alongside her medical education. When she is not in the gym, Snigdha can be found reading a good book, binging historical shows and movies, and lounging with her cats Octavia and Ophelia.
Quality Control Officer
Nina Sharifi is currently a second-year medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine who is exploring various specialties on her journey through medical school. She is passionate about examining the balanced integration of personal well-being alongside other avenues of life, such as academics and professional responsibilities. In high school, Nina started playing lacrosse, which not only fueled her interest in running and fitness but also taught her about the camaraderie and support that comes with playing team sports. In addition to running and weight training, Nina enjoys yoga, cycling, and rollerblading with friends at Depot Park.
Chief Technology Officer
Zachary Skelly is currently a Senior at the University of North Florida, pursuing a degree in Information Technology. As the Chief Technology Officer, Zach oversees all technical operations, ensuring seamless server-side support and development. His expertise drives the technological advancements of the organization. Beyond his professional commitments, he is a dedicated martial artist, holding a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also enjoys hiking, running, and snowboarding, staying active through his diverse interests. He is passionate about traveling to destinations that offer opportunities to engage in his outdoor activities, combining his love for technology and adventure.
